Mentorship as a Journey
Cassandra has been an Approved Mentor with both the Association for Applied Sport Psychology and the Canadian Sport Psychology Association since January 2024.
Through mentorship, she aims to support aspiring Mental Performance Consultants as they explore, grow, and thrive in applied practice.
Cassandra understands that mentorship isn’t a straight line; it’s a journey. Together, Cassandra and her mentees navigate challenges, explore possibilities, and build confidence for the path ahead.

Who Mentorship is For
If you are an aspiring Mental Performance Consultant, graduate student, or early-career MPC/CMPC, mentorship with Treun Performance can help you develop skills and competencies for a thriving career in the mental performance field.
Cassandra’s mentorship is specifically designed to meet AASP and CSPA mentorship and certification requirements, which are verified through Certemy upon completion of mentorship and internship hours. This mentorship period is primarily focused on professional growth and development.

What Mentorship Looks Like
First, a free Discovery Meeting is held to identify goals, suitability, and timelines. Should both the mentee and Cassandra agree to move forward, mentorship meetings are primarily conducted through 1-on-1 virtual sessions and tailored to meet the mentee’s needs.
Focus areas can include, but are not limited to: building your applied mental skills and techniques toolbox; navigating certification and professional standards, case formulation, consultation, and ethical practice; career and business development strategies; building a niche consulting practice; and enhancing confidence and adaptability in applied work.
The Mentorship Journey
Mentorship can take many forms; that’s one of the reasons a hiking metaphor that Cassandra heard at a CSPA professional development webinar stood out to her. Sometimes, the mentor takes the lead, sometimes the mentee does, and other times, they walk side-by-side. It all depends on the mentorship relationship, the context, and the challenges that are on the route ahead. No one hike looks the same, nor do the hikers making the ascent. As such, mentorship with Cassandra is adapted and personalized to the mentee she is working with. Through ongoing collaboration, honesty, and curiosity, the mountain can be climbed effectively together. As quality and individualized support are Cassandra’s highest priorities, mentorship spaces are limited.
