Consulting Philosophy

Treun Performance Consulting takes a person-centred approach—tailoring services to each client’s unique goals, strengths, and challenges. This process starts with open communication and collaboration, where Cassandra takes time to understand your needs and build a shared vision for success.

Treun draws from a variety of evidence-based methods—like cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and reality therapy—to develop a customized strategy for your performance goals. These methods are continually reassessed throughout the consulting process to ensure the approach remains aligned with your evolving needs.

While grounded in therapeutic principles, this work is focused on performance optimization and well-being, not clinical treatment. Cassandra’s expertise is built on a solid foundation of mental performance consultation, gained through her graduate research and professional training.

Specializations

With over a decade of experience, Cassandra specializes in elite performance and sport-related injury consulting across high-stakes environments—including sport and the military.

Her work focuses on performance optimization and psychosocial support for individuals navigating sport-related concussions and other performance-impacting injuries. Recognized internationally for her expertise, Cassandra actively collaborates on global initiatives in both military and sport-injury recovery.

As a result, Treun offers two key consultation streams:

  • Performance-oriented consulting

  • Sport-related injury consulting

Both are designed to help high performers thrive—whether they’re striving for peak performance or working their way back to it.

Certification & Associations

Cassandra is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC)—the highest recognized standard for mental performance professionals in North America. She holds this credential through both the Canadian Sport Psychology Association (CSPA) and the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP).

Earning the CMPC designation requires advanced coursework, a supervised internship, and successful completion of a certification exam. While relatively new to Canada, the certification reflects a commitment to evidence-based practice, ethical standards, and client care.

As a professional member of both the CSPA and AASP, Cassandra adheres to their strict codes of ethics, as well as all applicable provincial and federal regulations

Mentorship

Cassandra is an Approved Mentor with both the Canadian Sport Psychology Association (CSPA) and the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP)—offering mentorship for those pursuing the Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) designation.

Through Treun Performance Consulting, mentorship is available for both the internship phase and post-internship development, supporting mentees who are interested in working in elite contexts and/or with sport-related injuries as they build the skills, confidence, and professionalism required to succeed in the field.

If you're working toward CMPC certification, Treun encourages you to explore the requirements through the CSPA and AASP websites. Then, if you're ready to take the next step, you can inquire about mentorship through our New Client Inquiry Form.
